Space Junk - Adamo Vitale 9 years old

Japan has launched a rocket with many satelites into space. The one satelite - Ibuki is looking for greenhouse gases and also looking for pollution and stuff. They want to make a business and money out of launching satelites into space. I wonder how many satelites are out there floating in space? Imagine the litter we're leaving in space. I want to design something that collects old satelites and junk from space ....

Soccer World Cup in South Africa - Adamo Vitale, 9 yrs old

I can't believe it's 2009, because next year is the 2010 Soccer World Cup in South Africa. I'm so glad that other teams from overseas are coming to play here in SA. My favourites are Brazil, Italy and Portugal.

The World Cup is so important that they are building a train - the Gautrain, and widening the roads and building new stadiums here in South Africa.

I don't know if I'll go to any of the matches but I'll watch them on tv!!

Soldier Vassili reporting for Call of Duty

My cousin (21) gave me Call of Duty II for my birthday (27 December.) It's about World War 2, Germany. I'm Vasilli which is Russian, who has to complete tasks to get to certain levels, I played last weekend for the first time. The game is so realistic and even has interesting facts about the war. There's lots of shooting, blood and explosions plus bodies but that's what the war was like.
I like soldiers and collect small lead soldiers from different countries and different wars. I'm so glad schools out and it's the weekend so I'm off to go play!

Outta space - Adamo Vitale (9yrs old)

A South African astronomer, Dr David Block discovered a new view of the universe. The equipment they used to see through the space dust was used by the United states to spy on Russia.
Space is a scary place to be because there are billions of black holes and meteors. But I do love space it looks beautiful. I wouldn't mind visiting space one day. My friend Matthew wants to build a rocket with restaurants and a hotel to take people to space in.

First for South Africa in Dakar rally - Adamo Vitale (9 yrs old)

This is the first time South Africa came first in the Dakar rally. In 31 years in a VW Touareg. Giniel de Villiers said on radio that it was the best audience participation in South America with 1 million people at the start. He raced go-karts when he was four against tractors on a farm.

Today is also the day America's first black president is inaugurated. I like Barack Obama.

no drivers licence - - Adamo Vitale (9 yrs old)

So I'm only nine and can't drive but boy do I love driving games like Need for Speed and Midnight Club. Those are the two best driving games I like! I like the way the Americans do the faces of the people on Midnight Club and the cars! It's cool cause you can test drive cars which are locked.
School started today which means less racing for me :(

Bugatti in grandpa's garage - Adamo Vitale (9 yrs old)

On the news this weekend I saw an old Buggati, a 1937 57S, it's in England. They say they found it in a garage which was somebody's grandpa's (Dr Harold Carr). It's worth 3 Million Pounds and do you know why, because it use to be a race car driver's car and because there were only 17 of these cars made. Wow isn't that cool I hope one day I find something rare in my grandpa's garage, don't you. Imagine a Ferrari raced by Schumacher...... http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090103/ap_on_re_eu/eu_britain_supercar

Ronaldo crashes Ferrari - Adamo Vitale (9 yrs old)

I heard last night (Thursday) that Christiano Ronaldo wrote off his Ferrari. At least he's okay to play on Sunday which is a miracle. But have you seen how they make those cars? Each engine is individually molded and cast and all parts are handmade. I like the UEFA Champions League and watching it on tv but my mom and dad tell me to go to bed as it is on at 9pm in South Africa.

Happy birthday Elvis - Adamo Vitale (9 yrs old)

I'm 9 but I know about Elvis and James Dean and Marilyn Monroe, they all could sing except for James Dean. My mom says it's Elvis' birthday today. He died in August - and Marilyn Monroe, I know 'cos I read this on the puzzle I'm busy building with the three of them gambling together. We have some Elvis stuff, clock, tins and records and James Dean and Marilyn Monroe pictures and collector cars. We also have James' Dean's movie which was boring. I do like old movies though - my mom has Thoroughly Modern Millie which I enjoy as well as the original Thunderbirds with puppets.

To be like Rory Byrne - Adamo Vitale (9 yrs old)

I really admire Rory Byrne he is a South African born engineer and car designer, currently Design and Development Consultant for the Scuderia Ferrari. Rory also celebrates his birthday this week - January 10 (1944) I'd love to be a racing car designer like Rory one day and would love to meet him.

More on Rory from Wikipedia: He is the most successful Formula One designer of the last decade, since joining Ferrari in 1997 Byrne designed cars have won over seventy Grand Prix races, six constructors titles and five drivers titles. Byrne was born in Pretoria and went to Witwatersrand University in Johannesburg, South Africa. He was interested in racng firstly as a competitor and later the technical side. His first car was a Formula Ford which was raced in 1972. Byrne moved to England to continue a career in racing car design. Purchasing an aging Royale Formula Ford car he began putting together the skills required improve the design and received a lucky break in 1973 when Royale founder Bob King decided to sell the team. The new owner needed an engineer to replace King, who had also been the cars designer, and offered the job to Rory Byrne, who spent the next four years designing a variety of cars for the Royale and its customers. An introduction to Ted Toleman in 1977 offered the next opportunity for the thirty-three-year-old who was by now an established figure in British motor racing. Toleman was owner of a Formula 2 team and hired the South African as its designer. Several seasons of increasingly respectable results culminated in first and second place in the 1980 British Formula 2 championship. The team with Rory Byrne as its chief designer was now ready to make the jump into Formula One.

I want to design and build cars plus houses and other stuff. So I want to be an engineer when I grow up. Isn't that cool, cause I think it is don't you.
